**Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you support, whether in home care settings, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes. Your commitment to providing high-quality care will make a significant difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with special needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Offer specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities or other cognitive impairments.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop individualized care plans.

**Skills**:

- Experience with adults with developmental disabilities an/or mental health
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety practices.
- Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living environment for clients.
- Understanding of dementia care principles and techniques for effective communication with individuals experiencing cognitive decline.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated and independent in your duties.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect for clients' dignity.

Vehicle is required as part of the role may involve bringing the client you support into the community on outings including recreational outings such as bowling, the movies etc depending on clients interests and needs.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 20 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- supportive care: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
