**Position Summary**

The Group Home Worker is responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals residing in the group home. This includes assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, implementing behavior support plans, ensuring safety, and fostering a positive and inclusive living environment. The Group Home Worker plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of individuals through compassion, consistency, and professionalism.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Direct Support**
- Provide daily assistance with personal care, hygiene, meals, medication, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and participating in community activities.
- Encourage and model appropriate social behavior, communication, and life skills.

**2. Behavioral & Emotional Support**
- Implement individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) and strategies as directed by clinical or behavioral teams.
- Use trauma-informed, person-centered approaches when responding to behavioral challenges.
- Document behavioral incidents and report concerns promptly to supervisory staff.

**3. Health & Safety**
- Administer medication in accordance with agency policy and training.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment.
- Follow all emergency procedures, health and safety regulations, and infection prevention practices.

**4. Documentation & Communication**
- Accurately complete daily logs, progress notes, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external professionals.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and supervision as required.

**5. Advocacy & Inclusion**
- Promote dignity, respect, and inclusion for all residents.
- Support individuals in making informed choices and exercising their rights.
- Encourage participation in community, recreational, and social opportunities.

**Qualifications**
- **Education**: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in Social Services, Developmental Services, or a related field preferred.
- **Experience**: Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or behavioral challenges is an asset.
- **Training/Certifications**:

- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention or UMAB certification (preferred)
- Medication Administration training (as applicable)
- Valid driver’s license

**Working Conditions**
- Shift work including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 44 per week
