**Role Overview**:
Reporting to the Operations Director or designated leader, the Home Oxygen Clinical Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating home oxygen therapy and other related services for patients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and adherence to treatment plans. This role ensures the highest standard of clinical and in-home care, providing essential support to both current and prospective patients. Our patients are at the center of everything we do.
Position to be based out of **Edmonton, AB.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of healthcare professionals, including respiratory therapists, nurses, and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
Clinical Oversight:
- Oversee all clinical aspects of home oxygen therapy, including patient assessments, care plans, and equipment selection.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development of departmental strategies and long-term goals.
- Work collaboratively with senior management to align clinical services with the organization's mission and vision.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the quality of patient care.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Assist with managing the department's budget effectively, optimizing resource allocation for equipment, supplies, and staffing needs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising patient care quality.
- Manage inventory ordering and equipment repairs.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Develop, review, and enforce policies and procedures related to home oxygen therapy services.
- Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Patient Advocacy and Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for complex patient cases and concerns, demonstrating empathy and resolving issues promptly.
- Advocate for patients' needs within the healthcare system.
Performance Evaluation:
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members, providing constructive feedback and facilitating professional development.
**Qualifications**:
- Current registration and good standing with your appropriate governing body.
- Proven leadership abilities that emphasize accountability and team engagement.
- Strong understanding of respiratory care and home oxygen therapy.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and acceptable Driver's Abstract.
- Ability to travel to client homes within Edmonton and surrounding communities.
