Logistics and Customs Specialist

**The team**:
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the role of the Logistics and Customs Specialist is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods, across the world, while ensuring trade compliance vis a vis local country requirements. Furthermore the Logistics and Customs Specialist will manage the relationship with all 3rd party logistics and fulfillment facilities. This role requires versatility, attention to details and ability to oversee a multitude of projects at once. The Logistics and Customs Specialist will coordinate and track the relationship with several suppliers and internal customers,, attend team meetings to fully understand current/upcoming projects
**What your day will look like**:
- Classification of goods, including understanding and preparation of customs forms
- Monitor the safe shipping of products by all transport modes and maintain procedures for exporting product across the world while ensuring export compliance
- Updates Customs shipment information and physical status
- Resolves customer issues, handles and solves incidents (e.g. escalations, disputes)
- Interacts with Customer Service, Product groups and Finance, if required
- Knowledgeable in cargo (air/ ocean/ truck) movement
- Audit and approve Freight bills presented by various service providers
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects related to ERP data maintenance and update
- Ability to manage multiple competing projects and deadlines
**About you**:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French and other languages an asset
- Four to eight years of experience related to international freight/ trade compliance
- Working knowledge of Incoterms and correct use, based on import/ export transaction and updating customs shipment information while ensuring correctness of paperwork
- Knowledgeable in cargo (air/ ocean/ truck) movement
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with cross-functional
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
- Experience in improving workflows and map processes to increase efficiency and eliminate waste
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate level)

- **L’équipe**:
Relevant du superviseur d’entrepôt, la personne qui occupera le poste de spécialiste de la logistique et des douanes aura à assurer la circulation sécuritaire et efficace des marchandises dans le monde tout en veillant au respect des règles de commerce, conformément aux exigences locales. De plus, cette personne devra gérer la relation avec toutes les installations tierces de logistique et d’exécution des commandes. Elle devra faire preuve de polyvalence, de minutie et de la capacité de superviser une multitude de projets à la fois. Elle coordonnera les relations établies avec plusieurs fournisseurs et clients internes, en plus d’en assurer le suivi, et participera aux réunions d’équipe pour comprendre les projets en cours ou à venir.
**À quoi ressemblera votre journée**:
- Classifier les marchandises, et notamment comprendre et préparer les formulaires pour les douanes
- Veiller à ce que les produits soient expédiés de façon sécuritaire pour tous les moyens de transport et suivre les procédures d’exportation de produits dans le monde tout en veillant au respect de la conformité des exportations
- Mettre à jour les informations d’expédition pour les douanes ainsi que l’état physique de l’expédition
- Régler les problèmes des clients, gérer les incidents et les régler (p. ex., les escalades, les litiges)
- Interagir avec les équipes du service à la clientèle et des produits et des finances, s’il y a lieu
- Avoir des connaissances en transport de marchandises (voies aérienne, maritime et terrestre)
- Vérifier et approuver les factures de transport transmises par différents prestataires de service
- Contribuer aux projets d’amélioration continue relatifs à la maintenance et à la mise à jour des données de planification des ressources
- Capacité à gérer plusieurs projets et échéances concurrents
**Votre profil**:
- Baccalauréat
- Excellentes aptitudes en communication écrite et orale en anglais et en français (la maîtrise d’autres langues est un atout)
- Quatre à huit ans d’expérience dans les domaines du transport international de marchandises et de la conformité en matière d’échanges commerciaux
