**CUSTODIAN**

Reporting to the Facility Operations Administrator, the _Custodian_ is responsible for performing a variety of custodial and cleaning duties across the City Centre Park complex. This includes Langford Lanes, West Hills Arena, Eagle Ridge Community Centre, PlayZone, our 18-hole mini-golf course, Patio 37, Starlight Stadium, Goudy Field and the City Centre Grille. This role requires a dynamic self-starter committed to ensuring that all areas are clean, orderly, and presentable at all times. Please note that this can be a physical job, often requiring extended periods of standing or walking.

**TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform regular janitorial duties of the complex including, but not limited to, sweeping and washing floors, washroom and change room cleaning/disinfection, power washing, garbage pick-up/removal, and general cleaning duties.
- Ensure that all checklists are completed on time and according to standard.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, replenishing supplies as necessary.
- Empty garbage and recycling receptacles.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Complete minor maintenance tasks, as needed.
- Assist with setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events, as needed.
- Clean Starlight Stadium and ensure that it is ready for games and events.
- Communicate any misuse of company facilities by users to Facility Bookings & Events Manager for appropriate follow up.
- Ensure safe use of chemicals and equipment; ensure compliance with WHMIS standards.
- Ensure that all facilities are clean and sanitary.
- Ensure that equipment is cared for in such a way as to maximize useful life.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- The ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
- Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or a similar role (preferred).
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good physical condition and the ability to lift and move objects.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Criminal Record Check

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

Work is performed throughout all facilities at City Centre Park. Hours may vary - evenings and weekends will be required. Physical labour and cleaning are key components of the role. Job hazards may include slips, and cuts, but injuries are seldom serious.
