**Graduate Program Coordinator**:
**Primary Purpose**: The Graduate Program Coordinator** **is responsible for strategic planning and process improvement of the administrative and operational needs of the graduate programs in the College of Nursing. The Graduate Program Coordinator will provide advice to students in the Master of Nursing-Professional Practice (Course-Based), Master of Nursing-Thesis, and PhD in Nursing. Under the direction of the Associate Dean Research and Graduate Studies, this position will also coordinate the delivery of graduate course and classes, participate in recruitment strategies, support the development of new graduate courses or programs, engage in the restructuring and incoming revisions of nursing graduate offerings.
**Nature of Work**: With an organizational reporting structure to the Associate Dean Research and Graduate Studies and based at the Saskatoon Campus, this exciting position will be involved in projects related to the Master of Nursing-Professional Practice (Course-Based), Master of Nursing-Thesis, and PhD in Nursing. Reporting to the Associate Dean Research and Graduate Studies, the Graduate Program Coordinator demonstrates leadership in all aspects of the graduate program coordination and planning. The incumbent works collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including nursing faculty, staff, students, the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS), regional partners, and professional bodies from across the province and nationally. Success in the role will be dependent on working closely with the Graduate Studies Committee, support the College of Nursing’s Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Committee for admissions, awards and other tasks, the Graduate Program Administrative Assistant, the Graduate Chair (if there is one), the Director of Operations and Strategic Planning, as well as counterparts in Student Enrolment Services (SESD) and the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS). The standard for the quality of work and timely completion of tasks is high. To be successful, the incumbent must excel at developing, sustaining and maintaining professional relationships. Exceptional written, verbal and virtual communication skills are required. Working conditions require adaptability, innovation, organization, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Some travel within the province is an expectation.
**Accountabilities**:
- Develop a project management blueprint for graduate program redesign that supports the achievement of the strategic plan and goals of the college.
- Plan, execute, and evaluation nursing graduate programs’ recruitment strategies.
- In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Specialist, develop meaningful and effective graduate program marketing and promotional materials including print, media, and web-based communication.
- Provide advising to prospective students about the benefits and opportunities that graduate nursing programs offer and assist with navigating the admission processes.
- Evaluate all admission documents for the nursing graduate programs.
- Participate in graduate awards and scholarships processes.
- Provide academic advising and program planning support to current graduate students while promoting student achievement.
- Work with key stakeholders to improve student advising and supports for distance and international students in a distributed graduate education model.
- Manage the maintenance of graduate nursing student databases and electronic filing, and work with campus partners to continue improving data management processes and quality.
- Provides leadership in the development of proactive academic integrity plans and act as a resource for student appeal cases.
- Provide leadership and coordination for program planning activities such as timetabling, student progression, class build, and distributed technology needs that support timely, sustainable, and high-quality program delivery.
- In collaboration with other stakeholders in the college or on campus, work to build relevant metrics to measure success and guide decision-making for the graduate programs.
- Build programming relationships with other departments, colleges, or outside the University of Saskatchewan, to support learning opportunities that will extend graduate level course options.
- Identify activities to mitigate the College’s exposure to risk and liability, through affiliation agreements and other measures.
- In collaboration with the CGPS, develop and implement University level policies and procedures in Nursing that reflect best practices for graduate studies advising and coordination.
- Articulate the planning necessary for the creation of transfer articulation agreements with other post-secondary education institutions in the province.
