FIELD TECHNICIAN

**Purpose**:
The goal of the Field Technician is to learn the practical techniques required for the preparation of tools as well as the safe execution of pipeline inspections, including on-site activities required to load, launch, receive and retrieve the tools.

**Responsibilities**:

- Inspection tool preparation and verification: Assembly, testing, and configuration of inspection tool in the workshop prior to mobilization to client's site
- Post-inspection testing and disassembly of inspection tools as well as preparation of parts for warehousing
- Supports on-site activities such as testing, loading, launching, retrieval of inspection tool as well as data download off inspection tool
- Performs the required field documentation in connection with inspection projects
- Participates in daily tool box talks and risk assessments
- Raises any potential problems, issues, or concerns with supervisor in a timely manner
- Delivers exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers
- Performs other job duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Experience**:

- A two-year degree, diploma or technical vocational training as an Engineer Technician in Mechatronic, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering is required
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of corresponding work experience, ideally in the oil and gas sector
- A background in In-line Inspection (ILI) is preferred
- Familiarity with a wide range of mechanical and/or electrical tools

**Additional Information**:

- Must be proficient in spoken and written English
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
- Ability to obtain forklift and overhead crane operator's certificate (training in-house)
- Demonstrates an aptitude for learning new technologies and concepts
- Possess a valid drivers’ license with clean drivers abstract
- Frequent domestic and/or international travel (up to 50%)
- Requirement to lift or carry weight up to 50 lbs. (22.75 kg)
- Requirement to bend or crouch frequently
- Requirement to kneel or crawl occasionally
- Must possess reasonable manual dexterity to perform the assigned duties
