**The Role**:
We are currently searching for an** Assistant Manager, Operations,** reporting into the Director, Operations. This is a **Full-Time, Permanent **opportunity. This role provides effective management of facilities and assets by working with Director, Operations and coordinates the responsibilities of the supervisory team to ensure cost effective warehousing and distribution. The AMO supports customer satisfaction targets and ensures proper implementation of health and safety policies.

On-site at the Port Coquitlam Distribution Centre

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Ensure Distribution Centre Inbound volume is managed to capacity and priority.
- Ensure Outbound delivery to customers are achieved within target times and departure times are prioritized and appropriately handled by supervisory team.
- Maintain Service level (order fill and line fill) to meet or exceed targets.
- Establish and maintain effective partnering relationships with third party transportation providers
- Ensure all staff are compliant in Health & Safety requirements; supervisory staff is educated on appropriately dealing with any issues or concerns and safely manage all equipment in the warehouse.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and ongoing coaching to supervisors on operational performance and developmental opportunities.
- Foster a positive work environment by actively engaging with team members, promoting open communication, and encouraging feedback to enhance employee satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain high personal involvement, accessibility and visibility to supervisors.
- Lead periodic operational meetings.
- Manage performance of supervisory and admin team which may include: accountability and measures for each area of accountability, development plans, objectives and reviews, and succession planning.
- Strive for change and continuous improvement; Champion the BLSE initiatives in the Distribution Centre, communicate continuous improvement ideas and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Collective Agreement and Labour standards; foster and maintain good relationships with union stewards.
- Manage warehouse financial results in line with budgets and KPI targets.
- Other related projects and duties as assigned.

**Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:
**Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completed post secondary education in Business administration, Logistics or related field
- Certification in Logistics / Supply Chain management is considered as asset

**Experience**:

- 5+ years of related experience required, preferably in a unionized environment
- 3+ years of supervisory experience required
- Previous experience with SAP is considered an asset

**Skills**:

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Demonstrated people management skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to work within the confines of a Collective Agreement
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Excellent levels of communication both verbal and written
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Ministry of Transportation and WCB regulations

**The base salary for this position will range between $73,900 and $92,400.**
