**Job Overview**

The Junior Estimator will assist with the tendering process, job bids. The individual holding this position shall possess the ability to effectively manage the day-to-day work flow where related to job bids, sales requests, tenders and other related assignments from the Senior Estimator and ownership.

The majority of work is based in an office setting with some time spent on construction sites reviewing progress and meeting with project stakeholders. Involvement with operations manager is required to ensure accurate and up-to-date information to seamlessly execute projects.

Further, the Junior Estimator shall contribute to the company’s overall profitability, the quality of our Customer’s experience and the success of employees as a lead member of the team.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Assist with the preparation of estimates and the probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications
- Estimate pre-contract costs
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and contractors
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
- Data Entry of cost, directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
- Assist in the measuring of prospective jobs

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Experience with Bluebeam software required
- Ability to work in team environment.
- Strong communications skills, both across internal departments and externally with Customers.
- Time management and organizational skills to maintain positive relationships with Customers
- Ability to use positive language, listen, understand Customers’ needs and frustrations, follow up as required, and maintain an even demeanor towards Customers.

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
