**THE OPPORTUNITY**
- Performing patentability searches and preparing patentability opinions.
- Training for the patent agent qualifying examination.
- Maintaining patent files and assisting with monitoring deadlines via electronic docketing system.
- Corresponding with clients and foreign associates to build and maintain successful client relationships.
- Attending client intake meetings and invention disclosure sessions.
- Attending startup conferences and participating in other business development initiatives to meet potential new clients.
- Researching and writing for the company website blog, the PCK IP Reporter, as needed.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned.

As a Patent Agent Trainee your role will help prepare you for the patent agent qualifying examinations and possible fulltime employment with PCK as a Registered Patent Agent.

**THE SKILL SET**
- Successful completion of a degree in engineering, computer science, science or a related field.
- Client-oriented and results-driven mindset, ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to structure information clearly, concisely, and logically.
- Excellent time management skills.
- High level of motivation and commitment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and foster positive client and colleague relationships.
