**Continuous Improvement Leader**
We are looking for a **Continuous Improvement Leader** for our Peterborough, Ontario site. BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry’s most challenging problems. Today, BWXT’s equipment is being used in most of the nuclear power plants in Canada and is critical to delivering carbon free energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes.

**Responsibilities**:
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of Company products and processes as required.
- Conduct process improvement initiatives with process owners which includes: Documenting current process to identify pain points and opportunities
Performing supporting data analysis
Facilitating the design of the process changes
Creating future state processes
Documenting the improvements in a format that is appropriate for the content and its intended audience
Supporting implementation of the process change
- Provide editorial support for various departments, including developing and maintaining Microsoft Word templates as required.
- Provide administration support for in-house training courses, including maintenance of training records.
**Key Characteristics**
- Strong technical background.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, understandable by a diverse audience.
- Ability to interpret cross-functional processes, and to prepare clear, concise recommendations for process improvements in a style and format appropriate to the intended audience.
- Ability to work on your own for long periods when developing process improvements, but also ability to work effectively in a small team when required.
- Ability to prioritize deadlines and to complete assignments accurately and on schedule.
**Qualifications**
- University or college degree in engineering, science, or technology.
**Desired Characteristics**
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering design and/or quality.
- Experience in executing improvement initiatives through the use of established methodologies.
- Experience in applying/interpreting nuclear industry technical and quality standards (e.g. CSA N285, CSA N286).
- Basic understanding of the principles of graphic design.
- Experience of on-line presentation of documentation (Confluence, Tableau, Workflows, HTML editor, etc.).
