**Responsibilities**:
**Inventory Management**:

- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to forecast inventory needs.
- Manage ordering, tracking, and replenishment of materials.
- Conduct cost analysis to obtain the best pricing and rates.
- Optimize inventory levels to meet production and operational requirements.
- Monitor inventory trends and develop strategies for reducing excess stock and minimizing shortages.

**Inventory Control**:

- Manage daily inventory operations and ensure accuracy in all inventory records.
- Implement inventory control processes and best practices to enhance efficiency.

**Forecasting and Planning**:

- Assist in forecasting future inventory needs based on historical data and trends.
- Participate in planning related to inventory purchases and storage.

**Reporting**:

- Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels and generate reports.
- Prepare and analyze reports to identify opportunities for process improvements.

**Auditing and Accuracy**:

- Conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies through audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inventory transactions and product movements.

**Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all operational activities.

**Other**:

- Assist in issuing and receiving purchase orders when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary education in business, logistics, supply chain management or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an inventory specialist or in a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices such as JIT, safety stock, reorder points, and first-in, first-out.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
