**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**:

- Handle complex requests for quotes, renewals and endorsements, recommending innovative solutions when necessary
- Assess and accept/decline risk within underwriting guidelines and within your approved binding authority
- Consult and collaborate with stakeholders regarding unique or unusual risks to minimize adverse risk selection and to maintain the quality and profitability of the portfolio and refer risks outside binding authority
- Provide technical advice, training and on-boarding to all levels of the underwriting team, including peer file reviews
- Maintain Farm lines service standard requirements and awareness of market trends, pricing levels and amendments
- Development and maintenance of underwriting manuals and guidelines
- Provide product management support to the Underwriting and Product & Innovations Departments, which includes wording, coverage, product and program development
- Enter policies and understand policy details by checking the policy on the policy management system

- Leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving, analytics and decision-making skills
- Ability to organize and manage information with a high attention to detail
- Customer service oriented
- Integrity with confidential customer information
- A degree in business or another relevant field
- CIP designation or working towards CIP designation an asset
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience analyzing and servicing moderate to complex farm risks
- Experience in risk assessment, loss prevention, coverage development, and rating comprehension
