My client, a market leading automotive company, who offer excellent training and progression opportunities are looking to employ a Supply Chain Director to support the Global Supply Chain Team.
Reporting to VP of Operations, the Supply Chain Director has total responsibility for materials planning and logistics activities that include inventory management, material planning, forecasting & replenishment, warehousing, logistics and indirect procurement. This is a critical role within the plant operations that ensure efficient scheduling, on-time customer order fulfilment and delivery. This role drives strong collaboration with finance, controlling, supply chain and program management teams within plant and corporate settings.
**The Role**
- Is responsible for providing focus and direction to Materials and Shipping designates
- Managing the company's relationship with manufacturers, partners, and trade customers
- Processing orders received from clients and managing their fulfilment through to completed delivery in line with customer's requirements
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and the coordination of people and resources.
- Maintain PLEX inventory integrity
- Ability to plan for forthcoming projects as well ensure smooth running of current/concurrent projects.
- Has knowledge of MS Word and Excel level 1 and 2
- Computer literacy sufficient to use company databases
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, train and evaluate assigned staff
- Results-oriented, determine and track KPIs Proficiency in Microsoft office and related software
- Ensure co-ordination between materials planning, production schedules and shipping schedules to meet customer requirements.
- Negotiate best pricing/terms and conditions for long term agreements
- Troubleshooting, problem solving and issue resolution
- Liaising with fulfilment partners and the Customer Care team to ensure all orders are fulfilled and dispatched in a timely manner and in line with SLA’s
- Preparing, reviewing, and circulating a range of Supply Chain reports and ensuring actions identified from the review are actioned accordingly
**The Person**
- 5 years of manufacturing experience in an automotive environment
- Experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Have knowledge of production planning, inventory management, JIT concepts and MRP
- Have had hands on experience working with a business forecast, production planning or purchasing
- Familiar with a wide variety of manufacturing processes
- Computer literate e.g. Microsoft Office and relevant CRM Database
- Essential management skills e.g. concise communication, and the ability to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues
- Knowledge of the various functions of an automotive plant such as maintenance, quality, production control, safety, quality, operations, and materials as needed to determine how these areas are interrelated.
- A keen interest in efficiency and innovative techniques to develop more effective working practices working alone and as part of a dynamic team
- Able to problem solve under pressure
- Familiarity with appropriate national regulatory standards
**Salary**: Up to $120,000.00 per year
