Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS-related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.
- **Green Technology**: base-line investigation into marine carbon-capture technologies and supporting ongoing development of physics-based models supporting vessel energy transition and decarbonization.
- **Information Systems**: use and evaluation of sensing equipment, software tools, and baseline processes for using IOT sensors and scanning equipment to measure and monitor parts and fabrication.

**Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.**

**What you’ll do**

The successful applicant for this position will provide day-to-day support to managers and engineers while assisting and coordinating specific activities, including:

- Working with core Innovation team members and users to define requirements, select technologies and develop test cases.
- Coordinate and schedule activities to procure and manage Innovation technology assets.
- Capture and communicate the solution, progress and outcomes using demonstrations, presentations, and reports.
- Lead and facilitate meetings, updates, and other demonstration activities with team members and senior staff.
- Engaging with the wider team, stakeholders and other departments to manage progress and align the project’s vision.

**What you’ll bring**
- Enrollment in a 3rd or 4th year Engineering degree program.
- Demonstrated experience and relevant academic studies for **one **or more of the following:

- Carbon-capture technologies.
- Zero-emissions and alternative fuel systems and energy storage systems.
- 3D scanning systems and 3D model data management.
- Material or manufacturing equipment tracking or performance monitoring technologies.
- Robotics in manufacturing production, additive manufacturing or inspection.
- Experience in conducting technical investigations with strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills including technical report writing.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal direction and manage their time optimally.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and working through the technology adoption process.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and engineering skills through exposure to industry experience, class projects or co-op terms.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.
