Intern, Power Platform

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS-related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.

The Intern, Power Platform will gain valuable experience in all aspects of the Microsoft Power Platform deployments across our Shipyards.
Working closely with the Technical Lead, Power Platform, and our internal customers across Seaspan the Intern will be directly involved with all aspects of projects relating to Power Platform, specifically as it pertains to UI/UX design and branding, Application Lifecycle Management, governance, compliance and risk management.
This position is an outstanding opportunity to improve your skills by working closely with Senior Specialists and receiving oversight from the Senior Manager, Production Applications.

**Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 889 Harbourside, North Vancouver.**

**What you'll do**
- Actively contribute across all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Perform evaluations of end user adoption, work with end users to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure compliance to relevant usage policies, standards and governance frameworks.
- Support the Power Platform team in the delivery of Microsoft Power Platform solutions to our Shipyards End Users.
- Assist with the creation of technical documentation as it pertains to the Power Platform solutions deployed across our Shipyards.

**What you’ll bring**
- Enrollment in 3rd or 4th year of a relevant undergraduate degree program in the field of Computer Science, Engineering or Business.
- Must be able to secure a Canadian Government (CISD) Personal Security Clearance.
- Ability to communicate optimally and efficiently, both in writing and in person.
- Excellent digital literacy including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
- Understanding or experience with DevOps and Jira would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.
- Proven initiative, creativity, and integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Good judgment and reasoning skills.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.
