What you can expect in this role Manage internal facilities services and support functions, ensuring that company buildings and services meet business needs, function smoothly and provide comfortable and safe working conditions. Manage departmental facility budgets, including CAPX, ensuring expenses stay within guidelines. Justify and obtains approvals for any changes to budgets. Directly manage vendors to assign work, monitor activities, evaluate performance, and manage escalated/critical issues. Project assistance duties include collaborating with project engineering to define the project scope and deliverables, stakeholders, project goals and risks. If applicable, manages staff, assigns work, monitors activities, evaluates performance, and manages escalated/critical issues. Administers employment actions, provides coaching and guidance to staff and promotes staff training and development. Responsible for administrative Facilities tasks, which may include contractor and vendor procurement, contract and contractor management, systems, and tools development, financial and personnel related administration among other related activities. Perform facility services management oversight, tracking quality assurance oversight, safety, and environmental control. Lead work activities, planning and organizing work, providing for adequate staffing and resources, and maintaining work on schedule. Oversees day to day activities of facilities through utilization of contracted personnel, skills, contacts, and delegation of tasks. What you will need to succeed Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of related experience preferably in a Healthcare or Lab setting Strong project/program management skills with knowledge in use of portfolio and project management tools. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management, customers, vendors, and staff. Ability to lead multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams. Advanced knowledge of commercial HVAC, Electrical, Transformers, Chillers, Fire Alarms, Sprinkler systems, Generators, Lab Equipment (Hoods and Bio Safety Cabinets) Must be "hands-on" and assist in completing maintenance work. Valid driver’s license required. Physical demands and work environment Time spent in laboratory and office environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
