Coordinator of Extended and External Programming

Newton’s Grove School is seeking a visionary, entrepreneurial leader to further develop and deliver outstanding extended/external programming. The goal is to fill our new, state of the art facility with participants in a dynamic selection of pay-for-service programs that provide learning and activities for individuals of all ages and assist in further enhancing the school’s reputation.

We are seeking an individual who will capture the school’s positive atmosphere and uphold our values of reason, respect, and responsibility. Over the coming years, this individual will build a dynamic team that promotes and delivers a variety of evening, weekend, and summer programs. These programs are expected to complement our reputation for inspiring and engaging individuals to develop personal excellence. Programs should offer a range of well-rounded academic, athletic, artistic, career, and citizenship opportunities, catering to age groups from Junior Kindergarten through adult. The learning and activity in every area is expected to cultivate a warm and caring environment that adds to our positive community.

The school facility boasts over 70,000 square feet of bright, welcoming learning and meeting space including our Athletic Centre with double gym, raised running track, weight room and movement studio. Other features include a cafeteria and serving area, stage, dedicated music room, and state of the art science labs. All areas are serviced by a robust and reliable wireless network. Outdoor facilities include a basketball court, deck, and play spaces. Plans for another great addition in the form of our third and final Senior School phase have begun. The school backs onto 100 acres of Paul Coffey Park making baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and natural spaces with a creek available for activity and learning. Located close to the airport, the school is easy to access from the 427 and 401 highways. We have a proven reach into Etobicoke, Mississauga, Brampton, and Vaughan. The school has an established presence on social media and the web with the ability to provide effective marketing on many levels. Well established systems will be available to support registration, tracking, billing, and communication with program participants. The Coordinator of Extended Programming is expected to lead with a ‘built to last’ approach.

Job Responsibilities Include:

- Development, delivery, and expansion of programming
- Establish a robust summer program - internal and external programs
- Summer Program Director
- hands-on, in person
- Develop and Manage all Extended Programming - after school, March Break, PD, summer and December holiday camps
- Work on outreach to create and partner with other institutions and other programmers
- Support our Athletic Director to establish a long-term rental program (long term rental partners) - evening and weekends
- Establish program partners (long term) for our students’ participation - evening and weekends
- Collaborate with members of the Leadership Team to create the financial model
- Responsible for budgets, staffing, working with Marketing and Communications to promote:

- Building a team through effective hiring, training, and evaluation of program employees
- Developing effective marketing with support of the school’s marketing team
- Overseeing registration and billing with support from the school
- Overseeing non-school hours facility booking
- Booking facility preparation, cleaning and required upkeep
- Overseeing budgeting with support from the school’s Financial Manager and Business Operations Director
- Follow all applicable guidelines for participant safety
- Work with Business Operations Director to ensure facility management and security policies are followed and developed as required

Required Skills and Capabilities
- A strong desire ‘roll up their sleeves’ to build and implement an outstanding program
- The ability to develop a compelling vision that will attract and engage participants
- Significant desire to build a great team over time that will develop and deliver exceptional programming
- A history of building teams as an inspiring leader in Education, Hospitality, or another service industry.
- Leadership experience being a hands-on leader building sports camps, adult education programs, evening and summer school programs, or arts camps
- A diploma or degree in a field relevant to this position
