The primary role of the Human Resources (HR) Generalist is to support the implementation of human resources initiatives, policies, and practices that maintain a work environment which cares for our people, drives employee engagement, and ensures compliance with employment legislation.
The HR Generalist provides administrative and coordination support for all ongoing and project related human resources activities and supports all roles within the department as required and directed.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Maintain and update HR records and files with high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Administration of payroll and company benefits.
- Oversee administration of Foreign Worker program.
- Coordinate implementation of all HR training and activities such as recognition program, first-aid training, forklift certification etc.
- Implement and coordinate annual human resources processes including performance reviews, annual bonuses, compensation reviews, etc.
- Assist in building a culture of performance measurement.
**Qualifications**:
- University/College degree/diploma. Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation (CPHR) an asset but comparable experience and/or education will be considered.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in human resources administration and/or coordination.
- Up-to-date knowledge of BC and Western Provinces employment legislation.
- Some knowledge of Federal Foreign Workers Programs
- Professional verbal and written communication skills, both one-on-one and to groups.
- Strong people orientation balanced with an understanding of business needs. Willingness to assist employees with human resources queries and requests.
- Superior time management skills, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision. Accurate and detail oriented.
- Advanced fluency in Windows/MS Office environment and exposure to HR information systems.
- Capability to work in a team environment with varied departments and diverse personalities. Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 annually
