We want you to have a sense of belonging and feel valued for your contributions and the perspectives you bring. **Summary**: Development Manager II is responsible for day-to-day aspects of project development, from site prospecting through the commencement of construction. The focus of this position will be to help screen, identify, secure, and develop profitable site opportunities to meet RES development goals. **Requirements**: - Works closely with energy resource engineers to identify optimum project sites and develop land acquisition strategies - Works closely with legal counsel and senior members of the development team to draft land-rights documents - Manages land acquisition consultants and other temporary contractors - Identifies business opportunities and helps form relationships with key utilities and other potential clients within a region - Works with landowners and energy resource engineers to get "met masts" permitted and installed - Works with the finance team to assess the viability of emerging opportunities. - Manages all aspects of the land-rights acquisition process. - Participates in environmental and permitting work - Participates in transmission/interconnection process - Represents Company in community settings and in front of large landowner groups - Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly. **Qualifications**: - Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, law, engineering or a related field - 3+ years of experience in large-scale commercial project development, real estate, or land acquisition - 3+ years of project management experience - Advanced experience in project development or real estate, land acquisition equivalent industry experience. - Advanced skills in successfully managing the full spectrum of core responsibilities independently or with limited oversight - Advanced skills in working independently or with limited oversight - Advanced skills in solving complex problems - Intermediate skills in managing land acquisition through financial closing activity - Advanced skills in managing client interactions and delivering time cost-effective projects - Advanced skills in MS Office and Outlook. - Project Management - intermediate knowledge of managing multiple priorities to a common schedule. - Permitting/Environmental/Tax - Intermediate knowledge of environmental studies and risks, how to discern the reports to identify the next steps. A general understanding of local, state, and federal permits that may be required. A general understanding of local, state, and federal tax incentives. - Interconnection - intermediate knowledge of the grid, interconnection process, and risk. - General Electricity Markets - intermediate knowledge of the ISO electricity market structures, services, and products including energy markets, capacity markets, and ancillary markets. General understanding of utility rate base structures and functioning of vertically integrated energy companies. - Finance - intermediate knowledge of how a financial model works, the key inputs, outputs, and interdependency. Understanding of and ability to assess the economic impact of decisions on project economics. - Demonstrated understanding of technical aspects of energy storage projects, design, engineering, degradation, etc. - Familiarity with and ability to stay current regarding changing regulatory requirements - Understanding of contract terms and ability to recognize discrepancies **Anticipated base salary range**: $120,000 - $160,000 CAD The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible. **Physical requirements and environment**: The work environment and physical demands characteristics are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
