PRESENTATION OF THE POSITION

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Fitter is responsible for setting up, operating and ensuring the proper functioning of the packaging equipment while ensuring the quality of the products in compliance with safety rules, established standards, procedures and regulations in force.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble, disassemble and adjust packaging equipment
- Start up equipment and make appropriate adjustments to ensure optimal operation at the established standard speed.
- Troubleshoot equipment shutdowns and return equipment to normal operation as soon as possible.
- Supervise the operation of the equipment and minimize downtime and rejects;
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of the parts when assembling and disassembling equipment and that the parts on the line are properly stored at all times.
- Responsible for ensuring that the parameter sheets are properly completed and followed on the line as well as updates when required.
- Communicate information to the supervisor regarding work order needs or quality issues.
- Understand and explain information during shift transfers.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Documentary Practices and Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
- Identify, propose and participate in the implementation of solutions to improve the efficiency of the line.
- Transfer knowledge to a co-worker according to operational needs and training requirements.
- Other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar position (experience on a bottling line or cartoner in a pharmaceutical or food environment is an asset)
- An Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) or a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in industrial maintenance or in mechanical or electromechanical engineering is considered an asset
- Ability to use hand tools or any other tools (screwdriver, pliers, wrench, etc.) required to perform the task
- Demonstrated aptitude for manual dexterity, analysis and problem solving, meticulousness and respect for procedures
- Very high degree of leadership and autonomy to make appropriate decisions
- Must be a good communicator and be able to inform colleagues of past activities on the line and transfer knowledge
- Must wear protective equipment at all times.
- Work in a standing position.
- Handling of loads up to 20Kg
