**Connection Execution**: Perform water and sewer service connections, including the proper use of PVC SDR 28 pipe, service tees, and saddles in accordance with City of Winnipeg regulations.
- **Excavation & Trenching**: Coordinate with machine operators to dig and grade trenches to required depths and slopes while implementing safety protocols for shoring and trench boxes.
- **Infrastructure Maintenance**: Oversee or assist with hydrant maintenance, utility winterization, and water connections/disconnections.
- **Blueprint Reading**: Interpret civil engineering drawings, GIS utility maps, and hand signals to guide precise pipe placement.
- **Compliance**: Ensure all job sites meet provincial safety standards, including Ground Disturbance and Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.

**Required Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in underground utility installation, specifically focusing on water and sewer systems.
- **Winnipeg Expertise**: In-depth knowledge of the City of Winnipeg Water and Waste Department’s regulations and permit requirements.
- **Licensing**: Valid Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License (Class 3 with air brake endorsement preferred for operating heavy equipment/dump trucks).
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to perform heavy manual labor in various weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Current certification in **Ground Disturbance** and **First Aid/CPR**.
- Experience operating mini-excavators or backhoes around live underground utilities.
- Water and Wastewater Operator certification is a significant asset for municipal roles.

Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour
