This position will report to the Platform Development Team Lead, the Technical Writer is responsible for all aspects of the research, writing, and implementation of technical documentation associated with internal platforms.
**While this role may offer flexibility with remote work, all applicants must be available and willing to report on-site as needed. Being on-site may not be a regular requirement but is essential for certain tasks, meetings, or events that may arise.**

**Job Responsibilities and Duties**
**Documentation and Communication**:
- Create and maintain documentation to ensure an accuracy rate of 99% based on peer review and user feedback.
- Perform bi-annual reviews to ensure all written documentation remains current and compliant with regulatory authorities, ICH-GCP, government privacy agencies, and company polices.
- Review and edit Portico manuals quarterly to ensure newly added features are written using Microsoft Writing Style Guide.
- Participate in a yearly review of current work instructions and team processes to make revisions or create new work instructions.
**Collaboration & Troubleshooting**:
- Review draft training materials as needed to ensure they are clear, concise, and accurate.
- Lead virtual training sessions on writing style, new or revised regulations, and new or revised processes for in-house software.
**Operational Efficiency & Reporting**:
- Prioritize written documents, monitor progress, and complete updates within 5 business days of receiving new information or changes to Portico.
- Add weekly priorities and discussion points to the team meeting agenda by the end of the previous business day.
- Join in-person or virtual meetings on time and prepared to contribute to agenda items.
**Other Duties as Assigned such as**:
- Oversee and address written documents related to company processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
- A bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communication, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in technical writing, creating user guides, manuals, or documentation.
- Experience with IT Technical Quality Assurance, IT Privacy & Security Regulations (GDPR).
- Familiarity with clinical research regulations (e.g., FDA, Health Canada, ICH-GCP) is an asset.
- Proven ability to produce well-organized, logical, comprehensive, easy-to-follow technical documents.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret technical data, resolve documentation challenges, and ensure logical content flow.
- Proficiency in technical tools and software, including:
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Intermediate knowledge of Adobe PDF.
- Proven capability to manage and successfully complete multiple concurrent projects.

**Working Environment**
Each department has their own training requirements for in-office, hybrid or remote. Generally most positions will be eligible for a hybrid training schedule or remote. Home office setup requirements include a secure and reliable internet connection, an additional monitor, ergonomic workspace and privacy. This is an option, as staff can choose to work full-time from our office.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and be able to work within tight deadlines for task completion, which may cause mental fatigue
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $31.25 per hour
