We are actively seeking a skilled **Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist **to join our growing team at the headquarters in **Vancouver, BC.**

In addition, they will possess a natural talent for orchestrating and leading events, coupled with proficiency in contributing to and managing various projects.

This position directly reports to our Organizational Development Manager within the Marketing Team. It is a full-time, in-office role with regular hours falling between Monday - Friday with occasional weekend work for events.

This role includes working on projects aimed at enhancing staff engagement on a national level through various communication channels at Blackbird Security. It will also play a pivotal role in supporting the development of training programs for Blackbird Security.

**Responsibilities**:

- Spearhead engaging events to strengthen team bonds through internal event planning and management
- Create and lead staff engagement surveys and present reports to company executives regularly.
- Manage collaborations to contribute to the Blackbird community by managing internal partnerships of donations
- Oversee and enhance daily internal communication channels.
- Lead the company Town Halls and internal announcements.
- Optimize the onboarding process for new employees.
- Develop and implement new strategies to optimize staff engagement.
- Manage internal staff recognition programs recognizing outstanding contributions across the organization
- Support the Operations Training Managers in refining in-house training documentation and videos
- Identify, create, and implement strategies to enhance company culture
- Lead the Social Committee to initiate and execute internal staff events to foster a positive and inclusive social environment.
- Based on experience and background, Chair the Diversity & Inclusion Committee
- Support Recruitment with Job fairs and any visuals required for the Recruiting and HR department

**Job Requirements**:

- 2-3 years of experience in communications, event management, human resources, and/or marketing roles is required.
- Project Management experience is a major asset.
- A degree in Business or Communications is required.
- Previous experience in the security industry is an asset
- Outgoing personality
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience working with and reporting to a board or executive team is an asset
- Superior time management skills and organizational skills.
- Prior experience with public speaking and leading internal communication channels is required.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
