**Temporary Child and Youth Programs Supervisor**

At **Trico Centre for Family Wellness**, we believe in providing fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate recreation opportunities for children and youth. We are currently seeking a **T**emporary Child and Youth Programs Supervisor**to join our team and oversee dynamic programs for ages 0 to 14, focused on physical activity and healthy development.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Recreation, Child Development, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in program coordination and staff supervision within a recreation or educational setting
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience working with children and youth aged 0-14
- Knowledge of recreation scheduling software (e.g., WhenToWork) and program registration platforms
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
- Effective communication with customer questions and concerns
- Trico Centre will initiate a comprehensive criminal background check for all new hires. A previous check will be accepted provided it is dated within the past 6 months.

- Able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends when required
- Effective time management
- Experience developing and managing program budgets

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:

Employee Supervision_**
- Lead and supervise the Child and Youth Programs instructors (including parent& tot, preschool, physical activity courses, arts & crafts, dance, skating, etc.)
- Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate program staff, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture
- Develop and implement staff training plans and lead regular in-service workshops
- Manage scheduling, payroll approval, and annual wage reviews using internal scheduling systems (e.g., WhenToWork)
- Ensure staff are aligned with Trico Centre’s customer experience goals and values
- Maintain up-to-date employee certifications and compliance with safety standards

Programs & Services Management_**
- Oversee development and delivery of a wide range of child and youth programs including parented/preschool, skating, dance, day camps, arts & crafts, gym activities, and more
- Approve and input program details into the registration system; ensure accurate and timely updates
- Ensure smooth seasonal program launches and day-to-day operations
- Collaborate with Guest Services to provide training on programs and schedules, enabling front-line staff to deliver informed customer service
- Support strategic planning related to program quality, customer service excellence, and participant experience

**Schedule**:
Full-time flexible hours per week. Employees will be scheduled for forty hours per week, 8 consecutive hours per day of which 7.5 hours are considered work time and.5 hours (30 minutes) is a paid rest break (7 days per week, 16 hours per day) in keeping with the needs of department and Trico Centre. A monthly schedule will be developed cooperatively with the Child and Youth Programs Manager. Any overtime hours must be preapproved by the department supervisor in advance of working the hours. Lieu time off for approved overtime hours worked will be provided for hours worked outside of 37.5 hours per week.
