We are looking for part-time English as a Second Language Instructors to work on term contracts in two classes to support our ESL day school program until January 30, 2026 (Subject to Renewal). This position reports to the Coordinator in the program under the supervision of the Manager of Continuing & Community Education.

**Anticipated Locations/Assignments**:

- **Assignment #1**:

- St Joseph Adult School - 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, Canadian Language Benchmark 3-4 (In-person class)
- ** Assignment #2** - St Patrick Night School - 6:00-9:00 p.m. Monday/Wednesday evenings and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evenings, Canadian Language Benchmark 4 (Virtual online class)
- **Assignment #3** - St. Nicholas Adult School - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, Canadian Language Benchmark 7-8 (online - note all day time instruction is done from the school)
- ** Assignment #4** - St Patrick Night School - 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday/Thursday evenings and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evenings, Canadian Language Benchmark 7-8 (Virtual online class)

**The assignment involves**:

- Using various tools/apps to teach language and employment skills in person or online
- Create content for the specific curricula that is appropriate to the CLB levels of the course
- Implement and maintain learner skills, progress and accurate attendance records
- Ability to interact occasionally at a professional level as a representative of the Continuing Education department with other departments and various administrative staff, if required
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Valid TESL Ontario Certification or proof of TESL Ontario accreditation through the PLAR process (current or completed) and be a member in good standing
- Previous general ESL teaching experience with various CLB or ESL levels
- Proven collaboration, cross-cultural, and instructional design planning skills

**Any of the following are considered assets**:

- Experience working in Job Readiness / Employment / Skills or Trades Training programs
- Work Experience in various industry(ies) or sector(s) or trade(s), ideally in a training or lead role
- Proof of ability to integrate those skills into a curriculum
- Experience working with employers and in program promotion

The salary for this position is $42.22 an hour (plus 4% vacation pay and 3.8% statutory holiday pay).

The start date is as soon as possible.

You will be required to provide a negative Original Police Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector dated within the last 6 months if successful in the hiring process.
