Medical Laboratory Assistant

Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll is actively seeking applicants for a Medical Laboratory Assistant position. Medical Laboratory Assistants collect, prepare, label and refer laboratory specimens and perform other clerical duties as directed.
**Qualifications**:
- Completed post-secondary course at an officially recognized community college or technical institution related to phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistant Program;
- Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (OMST) required;
- 2 years' experience in phlebotomy in a hospital environment;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deescalate and provide a positive patient experience;
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis;
- Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable.
Other pertinent conditions:
- Must be available to work all shifts as required which may include weekends, stat holidays, days, evenings, and night shifts.
- Salary Range: As per the OPSEU collective agreement ($27.57 per hour to $31.79 per hour)
