Responsibilities of the Director of Student Supports

**Leadership**
- As part of the E2 Leadership Team, provide collaborative leadership and foster a neuro-affirming school culture.
- Promote a safe, inclusive school environment that celebrates diversity, respect, and inclusivity.
- Implement the strategic vision set by the E2 Academy Board of Directors.
- Report to the E2 Academy Board of Directors in a transparent and collaborative manner.

**Admissions**
- Oversee the student admission process.
- Ensure all E2 students undergo comprehensive assessments to evaluate both their giftedness and learning differences.

**Social-emotional Learning & Executive Function Support**
- Oversee the implementation of the E2 social-emotional learning curriculum and executive functioning supports.
- Work with staff to tailor programming to address both the strengths and areas of growth for all 2e students.
- Develop individualized interventions to support 2e students’ executive functioning, social-emotional learning and restorative approaches to behavior management.
- Support staff with implementation of individualized social-emotional & executive function classroom interventions.

**Student Support**
- Coordinate emotional support services for twice-exceptional students.
- Conduct student mental health assessments.
- Offer short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and emotional support for both students and families.
- Help students develop coping strategies to manage challenges such as social difficulties, perfectionism, and stress related to dual diagnoses.
- Work collaboratively with staff to foster an environment that positively supports 2e students and their families.
- Act as liaison with the school’s student support team (OT, SLP, etc.) and students’ community support teams.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and the student support team to create and implement Student Success Plans (AKA IPPs).
- Facilitate student-centered collaborative and proactive problem-solving and support restorative practices.

**Staff Development**
- Oversee the hiring, selection, and orientation of new student support staff.
- Provide direct supervision to all student support staff including Student Support Team Lead and Learning Facilitators.
- Mentor and coach staff to ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of 2e students’ social-emotional learning.
- Provide ongoing professional development on best practices in supporting 2e individuals including the Neuro-relational Framework, trauma-informed practices, social-emotional learning, executive functioning, etc.
- Foster a collaborative learning community among all E2 staff.

**Transition to Adulthood (T2A) Program**
- Plan and coordinate the high school work experience program.
- Develop and oversee life
