Reporting to the Program Director, the Manager, Regional Surgical Services works in partnership with the program

clinical leads at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) and regional partner sites. The Manager

is accountable for the operational leadership, management and quality of care delivered by central intake and remote

patient monitoring teams, congruent with the values, mission, vision and strategic plan of TBRHSC. The Manager is

accountable for planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating activities of their assigned out‑patient areas in

order to improve the staff experience, provide optimal patient care and the delivery of high quality service in a fiscally

responsible manner.

The Manager will be a highly motivated team player, foster a safe and effective work environment, will embrace both

efficiency and professional accountability amongst all members of their team and will ensure that the delivery of safe,

quality patient care is their guiding principle. In addition, the Manager will display a commitment to evidence‑based

practice. The Manager will collaborate and build linkages within, and outside of TBRHSC to generate and maintain

an environment that encourages development of new ideas. The Manager will base their decisions on the mission,

vision and values of TBHRSC, the principals of the Patient and Family Centered Care, interprofessional

collaboration, the standards of practice for all applicable regulatory bodies and TBRHSC policies, procedures and

standards.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:

- Baccalaureate Degree in Physiotherapy, Nursing, or allied health profession
- Master’s Degree in business or health care preferred
- Current unencumbered registration with professional college/regulatory body
- Minimum 5 years health care leadership experience, demonstrating clinical expertise in clinical care

Skills/Abilities:

- Proven ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated focus on results, quality, and service and can prioritize in a fast paced environment
- Possess excellent communication, problem solving, planning, and resource allocation skills
- Commitment to evidence based practice and a facilitative leadership style
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice and guiding principles to foster professional practice and

accountability
- Excellent analytical skills to monitor, assess and implement programs and address operational needs
- Interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to interact effectively with all team members, staff, patients, family

supports, community and provincial partners
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Patient & Family Centred Care.

Salary Range: $50.081 to 58.919
