Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) is a state‑of‑the‑art, 375 bed, acute care facility serving

the healthcare needs of people living in Thunder Bay and N.W.O. The organization is focused on providing patient

and family centered care in an academic learning environment. To fulfill its Teaching and Research strategic goals,

TBRHSC supported (in 2007‑08) the creation of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute (TBRHRI), as a

not‑for‑profit and independent research corporation but closely affiliated with the Health Sciences Centre. Through

the partnership, TBRHRI and TBRHSC are advancing the academic research mandate and strengthening our

collective role as a leader in health innovation.

**NOHFC #7402324, Urology Research Intern (1 year contract)**

The individual filling this position works closely with the associated Urology Physician and the TBRHRI Clinical

Research Services Department (CRSD). Their time is devoted to the support and development of clinical research

projects related to the Urology Group. Specifically, it is the expectation that this position will support the Physician

initiated studies currently underway, as well as several upcoming studies. This will include assisting with identifying

potential research projects and funding opportunities, developing proposals, protocol writing and study document

creation, preparing research papers and reports for committees, seminars and conferences, recruiting and

administration of participants for studies, attending surgical procedure and transcribing relevant research information

,collecting and analyzing data, etc.

proficiency using basic software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required. The ideal

intern will have completed a degree in science or medicine. Must be highly dedicated and organized, with the ability

to multi task in a fast‑paced, diverse, and growing environment. Exceptional organizational and communication

skills, along with strong quantitative, analytic and reasoning skills are necessary.

Salary Range: $20.00 per hour to $26.00 per hour
