We are currently seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Generalist to join our team in Calgary. This role is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys variety in their work, and is passionate about both people and safety.
**What You'll Do**
Human Resources Responsibilities
- Support onboarding and orientation for new team members, ensuring a strong introduction to Lux’s culture and safety values.
- Maintain accurate employee files, HR documentation, and HRIS data.
- Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers on policies, benefits, and workplace practices.
- Assist with performance management processes, training coordination, and development initiatives.
- Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and company events.
- Lead and contribute to HR projects such as process improvements, HRIS implementation, and policy updates.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards and HR best practices.
Safety Program Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a proactive, positive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Coordinate Lux’s health and safety program in compliance with Alberta OHS legislation.
- Conduct and document safety orientations, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Track and report safety metrics; support WCB claims management and modified work programs.
- Maintain Lux’s Certificate of Recognition (COR), including coordinating audits and documentation.
- Organize safety training, certifications, and committee meetings.
- Stay current with evolving safety regulations, standards, and best practices to strengthen Lux’s safety program.
**What You Bring**
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing, construction, or trades environment.
- Experience supporting or leading safety initiatives and program administration would be considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards and OHS regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRIS systems.
