**Superintendent Job Description**

**Tasks/Abilities**
- Help Move project forward in steady manner to hit deadlines, performance and quality goals.
- Help with project Design and Drawings details to foresee potential problems with Engineering and ACL Office, Estimating and Project Management.
- Oversee Work done by Sub trades and ACL staff onsite.
- Notify appropriate parties of issuing arising onsite or possible issues that may arise.
- Act as Site contact.
- See to it that site is kept clean and safe for all personal on a daily basis
- Enforce Safety rules and regulations set out by Atkinson Construction Ltd and OHS to the best of your abilities
- Fill out safety reports (daily or otherwise) and daily site records and submit to office for records and review.
- Monitor first aid supplies onsite, (if something was used it will need to be replaced) if nothing available please request supplies.
- Help Employees develop both safe work practices and skills.
- Orientate new employee’s onsite and Orientate new trades or contractors onsite as laid out in ACL’s Safety program.
- Attend meetings with ACL Office and Sub trade’s
- Lock up and secure site. Help arrange access for Trades
- Track and approve time worked onsite by ACL staff
- Monitor equipment onsite for, Maintenance, safety, or other concerns. Determine if people are able to use equipment properly, and train if able or remove individual from equipment.
- Haul material and equipment as needed
- Help train or complete tasks onsite.
- Issuing of Violations or Warning as necessary
- Hiring or Disciplinarian action of staff onsite
- Disciplinarian actions for Subcontractors onsite (safety or otherwise)

**Skills/Traits Required**
- Read blue prints
- Understanding of Alberta Building Code requirements
- Brick Veneer installation
- Be able to Wood frame
- Interior and Exterior wood work(kitchen millwork, trims, exterior paneling)
- Form work for Concrete
- Rebar Layout and Tying of rebar
- Hoarding or and heating of Building and concrete work
- Equipment operation
- The use of Surveying equipment for Layouts and Anchor bolt installation
- Concrete work
- Finishing, placing, Preparation
- Hauling and strapping down loads
- Installation of Hardware, doors, Washroom accessories, Handicap requirements
- Working with Staff to complete tasks
- Temporary Site Setup of Lighting, power, heat, Air movement
- Valid Driver’s license (with drivers abstract)
- Communication with Project Owners and Trades
- Be aware of what’s included and not included in the project contracts.
- Ordering of materials, Help Project Managers with lead times of equipment and materials for site
- Installation and review of Thermal and moisture systems onsite
- Wall liner and roof metal systems
- Work review of trades, staff over entire project
- Fire Caulking and Fire Separation review and installation
- People skills with Trade coordination
- Scheduling of Manpower onsite
- Request or willingness to transfer Manpower to and from site to assist with companies overall goals
- Leadership
- Basic understanding of all building systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Sprinkler, Structural etc.)
- Fix deficiencies onsite
- Arrange hotels for manpower out of town
- Provide daily goals for site and overall project goals
- Be prepared.
- Willingness to Learn, Teach, Mentor, Grow as a group

Pay: $89,000.00-$109,000.00 per year
