Wendell Farquhar is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Lead Hand in Elliot Lake, Ontario. This is a full-time year-round position available that will require a high level of motivation, professionalism and independence.

**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide leadership and direction to crew to meet quality and production standards.
- Coordinate equipment, labour and trucking as assigned by supervisor.
- Responsible for dispatching and operating winter snow removal operations
- Review contract drawings and plans to ensure specifications are followed.
- Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assume all duties of the supervisor in his or her absence.

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- Valid G Driver’s License is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- 5 years experience in the civil construction field
- Experience in a management position is considered an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Ability to plan construction projects by studying plans, coordinating with Project Superintendent, Project Manager and Logistics Coordinator.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and scopes of work.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, Human Resources policies
- Knowledge of computer and tablet use.
