Paving Laborer/operator

**Position Overview**:
Allspec Asphalt is looking for motivated **Asphalt & Paving Operators and Laborers** to join our dynamic team If you have experience operating asphalt paving equipment such as pavers, skid steers, and/or rollers, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, we encourage you to apply. You’ll play a key role in our paving projects, ensuring that each job is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**For Operators (Paver, Screed, Skidsteer, Roller)**:
- **Paving Equipment Operation**:
Operate paving equipment such as pavers, skid steers, rollers, and other machinery used in asphalt paving projects. Ensure all machinery is operated in a safe and efficient manner.
- **Quality Control**:
Ensure the smooth operation of the paver and screed, adjusting as necessary to achieve the desired asphalt thickness, compaction, and finish.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:
Perform basic maintenance on paving equipment, including daily checks for wear and tear, fueling, cleaning, and reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- **Site Preparation & Safety**:
Assist in preparing the job site for paving operations, including proper traffic control and ensuring safety guidelines are always met.
**For Laborers**:
- **Material Handling & Site Preparation**:
- **General Labor Support**:
Support operators with various tasks during the paving process, including raking, shoveling, and ensuring materials are properly distributed.
- **Safety Compliance**:
Ensure all safety measures are always followed, including wearing appropriate PPE and adhering to safe work practices.
- **Clean-Up & Site Maintenance**:
Help maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring all tools and equipment are safely stored when not in use.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience (For Operators)**:
Previous experience operating paving equipment, including pavers, skid steers, and rollers, is highly preferred. Experience with asphalt paving operations is an asset.
- **Experience (For Laborers)**:
Previous construction or labor experience is preferred but not required. A willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are essential.
- **Safety Awareness**:
Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and practices. Certification in safety courses (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS, etc.) is an asset.
- **Physical Demands**:
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift heavy materials, and work in a physically demanding environment.
- **Team Player**:
Ability to work effectively within a team environment, communicating well with supervisors, co-workers, and other team members.
- **Valid Driver's License**:
A valid driver’s license is preferred, especially for operators who may need to transport equipment.

Pay: $25.87-$29.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
