**POSITION BRIEF: 1 FT Position (5 days/week) Available**
Busy Family Practice with 8 Physicians, 1 Registered Nurse and 9 Medical Office Assistants in Port Coquitlam is seeking another Medical Office Assistant to join our clinic.
- 5 days a week, *must be available alternate Saturdays*
- Previous experience working in a medical clinic is preferred
- MOA certificate required
- New grads welcome to apply
**MOA RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES; BUT NOT LIMITED TO**:
FRONT DESK:
- Triaging telephone calls with confidence and kindness
- Booking/scheduling appointments
- Managing referrals and tasks in Med Access EMR
- Greeting patients and escorting them to rooms
- Using the POS machine
RUNNING ROOMS ASSISTANCE:
- Calling/billing patients with their INR results
- Height and weight for infants and adults
- Setting up pap smears, circumcision, excisions etc.
- Pregnancy tests, urinary tract infections and drug screening
- Autoclaving
ADMIN:
- Scanning / Importing results into patient's charts
- E-Faxing prescriptions
- Third Party requests**:Insurance companies, Lawyers, chart transfers
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Graduation from a recognized MOA program
- Works well independently as well as in a team environment
- Good working relationship with their colleagues, office manager and physicians Friendly and kind towards patients
- Ability to take initiative.
- Excellent organization and communication skills
**Wage**: Starting at $20/hr. Wage to be discussed depending on experience.
