**Market Researcher**
Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Dunsmuir 15

Annual salary: $ 86,200.00 - 92,900.00
**What you'll do**
- Project manages a wide range of research projects and programs of varying scope, complexity (straightforward to highly
complex and innovative) and research techniques. by: determining research objectives, scope and requirements based on
client’s request; developing and recommending approaches for research methodology, survey tools, resourcing and costs
based on the scope and complexity of request (such as innovative sampling approaches or survey design techniques, and/
or complex design elements such as categorical segmentation/branching, concept testing, or trade-off exercises); and
developing and monitoring project plans, timelines and budgets to ensure projects and programs are on track.
- Prepares reports and presentations on research projects and programs by: conducting various analysis (such as statistical
significance testing, segmentations and key driver analyses) using various advanced techniques and software tools;
incorporating data analysis from other research sources (such as existing internal research within team or other
departments, vendors or third party data); and interpreting and summarizing data into meaningful insights and
recommendations to support clients with planning, decision making and program evaluation.
- Negotiates, contracts and oversees the work of external research firms required for research projects and programs to
ensure deliverables align with research requirements, budgets and timelines. Reviews completed work for quality and
resolving work issues. Approves vendor invoices prior to managerial approval.
- Follows-up with clients on the effectiveness of programs to ensure research methodology approach continues to meet
requirements. Recommends revisions to research methodology approach to clients to address potential business changes
as required.
- Oversees BC Hydro’s Insights Community by: designing, deploying and scheduling survey programming; maintaining and
improving Community engagement and membership; and maintaining the vendor contract and relationship with the external
research partner platform.
- Provides expert market research and consultative advice to clients to inform and improve program/campaign design and
evaluation, market impacts and operational and organizational risks. Executes external research or gathers external data
when required to provide insight on market, industry or policy impacts on programs/campaigns.
- Maintains currency with market research, survey design techniques and software programming tools and industry
practices. Participates in seminars, conferences, networking events and related professional associations.
- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.
**What you bring**
Bachelor’s degree in a Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline; plus six (6) years of
experience in a market research vendor or large client organization where experience in project managing and developing
medium to highly complex research projects (including but not limited to marketing, program experience and digital
research) and technical proficiency in using survey software programming and online community management tools has
been gained.

Diploma in Market Research, Business Administration or a related discipline; plus eight (8) years of experience in a market
research vendor or large client organization where experience in project managing and developing medium to highly
complex research projects (including but not limited to marketing, program experience and digital research) and using
survey software programming and online community management tools has been gained.
