**Job Description**:
**WHAT’S THE JOB?**

As a remote Cook, you work under the authority of the operation assistant. You will play a vital role in the operation of a tree planting and SOPFEU camp in Abitbi, Quebec. You are responsible for all aspects of food production from meal planning, safe food preparation and cleanliness of the remote kitchen and remote dining areas.

**Your work will include**:

- Handling, preparation, production, and timely service of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in accordance with approved methods and standards.
- Preparing meals according to budget guidelines.
- Preparing adequate quantities of the menu choices by following all production quotas set.
- Following proper storage and rotation of all food supplies.
- Preparing and sending food orders

**QUEL EST L'EMPLOI?**
Le **cuisinier sur campement forestier **travaille sous l'autorité de l'adjointe aux opérations. Il joue un role crucial dans l'opération des camps de planteur d'arbres et de la SOPFEU, en Abitbi au Québec. Le cuisinier est responsable de la planification des repas, de la préparation sécuritaire des aliments et de l'état général de la cuisine et de la salle à manger. Ses responsabilités incluent (mais ne se limitent pas à):

- Gérer la préparation, la production avec les heures de services des déjeuners, dîners, soupers et collations selon les méthodes de travail et standars d'Horizon Nord.
- Préparer les repas dans le respect des budgets.
- Préparer en quantité adéquate les choix de menus en suivant les quotas de production fixés.
- Assurer un rangement et une rotation adéquate des aliments.
- Préparer et envoyer les commandes de nourritures.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Degree in hospitality, catering, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience;
- Vegetarian cooking skills
- Applicants must have a current Food Safety certificate;
- Camp cooking experience is an asset;
- High standards in maintaining a clean and organized Kitchen;
- Computer knowledge - Microsoft Office Suite: Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Scheduling Software;
- Be able and willing to travel and work in remote areas on a regular rotation;
- Ability to express yourself in French.

**QUI CHERCHONS-NOUS?**
**Qualifications et exigences**
- Diplôme en hôtellerie, restauration, ou combinaison équivalente de formation technique et/ou d'expérience connexe ;
- Cuisine végétarienne;
- Formation de Gestionnaire en hygiène et salubrité du MAPAQ est fortement recommandée;
- Expérience dans les camps d'hébergement de la main-d'œuvre en régions ou milieux éloignés (campements) est un atout.
- Assiduité dans l'organisation et le nettoyage de la cuisine
- Connaissance de l'informatique - Suite Microsoft Office : Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Scheduling Software;
- Être apte et prêt à voyager et travailler en milieux éloignés selon des rotations régulières;
- Capacité à s'exprimer en français.
