**Landscape Grounds Maintenance Labourer**

**Reports to: Landscape Grounds Maintenance Supervisor**

**Summary**:
The Landscape Grounds Maintenance Labourer is responsible for physically maintaining outdoor landscaped areas by tasks like mowing lawns, weeding gardens, planting flowers and shrubs, pruning trees, laying sod, spreading topsoil, and operating various landscaping equipment, all under the direction of a supervisor, to ensure the overall appearance and health of the grounds remain aesthetically pleasing.

**Job Duties**:

- **Lawn maintenance**:Cutting grass, raking, aerating, dethatching, fertilizing, and watering lawns
- **Tree and shrub care**:Pruning, trimming, and removing dead branches from trees and shrubs
- **Planting and sod installation**: Laying sod, spreading topsoil, planting new trees and shrubs as needed
- **Clean up**:Removing debris, leaves, and litter from landscaped areas
- **Equipment operation**: Operating power mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, chain saws, and other landscaping tools
- **Seasonal Tasks**:Flower bed preparation in spring and fall clean-up

**Requirements**:

- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labour for extended periods
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely
- Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with clients and team members
- Basic knowledge of plant identification and care practices
- Must possess a valid driver’s license

**Work Conditions**:

- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent stamina is required
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
- Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
- Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work

Pay: $19.28-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
