In accordance with the Administrative and Professional Officer Agreement, this position has a comprehensive benefits package and an annual salary range of $80,542 to $134,238.

**Location** - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote nad in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) brings together the combined strength of all our health sciences faculties and schools, enabling a new level of interdisciplinary health science research and teaching that advances the full spectrum of human health and wellness in individuals and communities around the world. It encompases the faculties of Rehabilitation Medicine, School of Public Health, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Medicine & Dentistry, and Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation.

**Position Summary**

The Director, Office of Research in the College of Health Sciences is responsible for the design, implementation and management of efficient and effective operational systems and structures that further the research services vision and to support interdisciplinary and large-scale research. The Director works collaboratively with the Associate Dean Research, CHS, Senior Research Partner (SRP), research partners and other colleagues across the university to advance the College’s research and innovation by managing key initiatives associated with research and innovation within the College.

**Duties**
- Works closely with the Associate Dean, Research, CHS in the development and management of systems that facilitate research productivity (e.g. publications, Tri-Agency funding, awards and distinction etc.) and evaluate research productivity against key performance indicators.
- Makes continuous improvements to services, programs or operations to increase performance and deliver results.
- Works closely with CHS faculties, other colleges and the VPRI to foster collaboration in efforts to facilitate and support research initiatives, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary research.
- Champions innovative and novel initiatives and solutions to support client needs.
- Identifies key colloborators and creates internal and external networks to build support for ideas, initiatives, direction and implementation.
- Reinforces a positive work environment through promoting transparency and open dialogue. Actively listens to understand the issues and perspectives of others and provides and opportunity to respond.

**Qualifications**
- A Master’s degree in a health related field, business administration or other related field. PhD is considered an asset.
- 5-7 years of experience working in a university setting, with research agencies or related organizations with a strong working knowledge of academic research administration policies and issues.
- Experience in clinical or health outcomes research is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of major Canadian funding agencies and the peer review process.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with team members from other areas of expertise, including leadership internal and external to the University, investigators and staff.
- Strong organizational skills in coordinating large groups and multiple parallel projects.
- Experience making independent judgements within the context of established policies and procedures.
- Excellent leadership and team building skills.
