The Accounting Technician will join the Accounting and Finance department of one of the leading real estate developers of Montreal. This position will play a critical role in the accounting and tracking of the performance of residential and commercial properties. They will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

The Property Management Accounting Technician will also contribute to support the finance team’s analysis and reporting needs for projects, which includes but is not limited to monthly reporting, cash flow forecasting as well as ad hoc reporting and audit requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform accounting of daily transactions in the accounting software HOPEM.
- Record rent payments (cheques, PAP, Internet).
- Enter leases into the database.
- Ability to manage the database and ensure its accuracy.
- Contribute to the month end process of booking entries to projects: reconciliations, journal entries, etc.
- Participate in the monthly cash flow analysis process
- Assist in preparing various ad hoc financial analyses for various internal and external stakeholders
- Data analysis, summarization, and presentation of results.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of the software HOPEM would be considered as a strong asset
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting.
- Experience in real estate development would be considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), especially strong in Excel (pivot tables, VLookUp, etc.)

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both, French and English.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work, good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Able to cope in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
