**What you will be doing in the role of Technical Advisor**:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Primary Responsibilities:_

Working in tandem with the Business Unit leadership, Technical Advisors will be focused on developing the following core competencies or supporting the completion of the following tasks:
Act as the primary point of contact within the Business Unit when the Sales Segments require additional support on technical requirements or product specifications for day-to-day quotes or proposals for a specific Emerson Business Unit.
- Act as an initial advisor for Inside or Outside Sales team members, coordinating within the Business Unit for guidance on more complex technical questions when required.
- Support all real-time or urgent requests for technical input as these requests arise.
- Establish, grow, and maintain relationships with Emerson and across the Emerson Impact Partner Network.
- Conduct customer lunch and learns

Create and deliver training content as part of the Application Engineering training program.
- Ensure content is current and includes most up to date content from the Global Learning Centre.
- Provide hands on mentorship or technical guidance to the Inside Sales Team.
- Work with Inside Sales Managers on identifying knowledge gaps within the portfolio and set up training programs to support capability development.
- Obtain certification by completing required factory training.
- Coordinate Marketing communications with the Marketing Team for new products, product improvements, training, seminars, etc.

Sales Operations
- Support Lakeside’s annual goal setting process as required by the Business Unit Lead.
- Review and contribute to funnel accuracy.
- Support and Drive inventory usage programs.

Strategic Planning
- Assist in the preparation of content for and participate in Business Unit Growth Reviews.
- Support reporting and periodic business review process for respective business unit portfolio.
- Prepare for and participate in Business Unit Sales and Operations Planning calls.
- Maintain strong relationships within factory organizations for technical and commercial support.
- Actively support and assist BU Lead in all efforts that impact Lakeside’s performance rating as measured by the Business Unit Scorecard KPIs.

Market and Industry Expertise
- Participate in industry groups, forums, and tradeshows as appropriate.
- Support marketing materials and campaigns for the Business Unit portfolio.
- Keep abreast of and advise competitive market information such as new products, pricing strategies and market direction.
- Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of competitors' offerings and sales organizations.
- Participate in technical presentations and seminars for Lakeside.
- Conduct live demonstrations and formal presentations.

**Knowledge and skills required for the role**:

- University Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or Technologist Diploma in an Engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales
- Expertise in the functioning of Emerson tools
- Expertise in the functioning of all role specific internal tools, in alignment with Lakeside’s Quality Management System
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of customer situations
