Slowhand Pizza is looking for energetic and reliable team members for our Leslieville location. This role is part time (15-20 hours per week), and requires a flexible schedule that would included some mornings, some days, and some evenings. Weekday and weekend availability is a must. This position will be focused on our entire pizza process, from making the dough through to boxing pizzas and processing orders. You’ll be a crucial part of the team who works both front of house and back of house as required. We are very much an "all hands on deck" type of team. Pizza experience isn't necessary, but kitchen experience is an asset. Training will be provided. What's most important is that you fit with our vibe and understand the importance of customer service. The role: - Panning dough - Prepare toppings and ingredients in advance of service - Top pizzas as ordered and manage them in the oven - Finish, cut, and box pizzas as ordered - Take orders and process payments via in house point of sale system and telephone - Keep kitchen clean and organized - Maintain a strict adherence to food safety policies - Other duties as assigned (mostly general cleaning and organization) You: - Have at least one year of kitchen experience or training from a culinary school - Are over 18 years old and have a SMART SERVE CERTIFICATE - Are able to work mornings, evenings, and weekends - Can work under pressure - Are comfortable working in front of a hot pizza oven - Are courteous, reliable, and ready to learn - Can read, write, and speak fluent English - Are able to lift 25KG - Live in the city of Toronto (preference given to those in the East End) - Have or are willing to get a FOOD HANDLER'S CERTIFICATE We provide: - A positive, vibrant, inclusive work environment - Training - Staff uniforms - An open, bright and clean kitchen - Flexible hours - Staff meals - A living wage - Opportunity to grow with the business Bonus if you read this far down - tell us your favourite band when you send in your resume. **Job Types**: Part-time, Casual Part-time hours: 15 per week **Salary**: $16.00-$22.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Discounted or free food - Flexible schedule - On-site parking - Paid time off Schedule: - Day shift - Evening shift - Monday to Friday - Morning shift - Weekend availability Supplemental pay types: - Tips Application question(s): - What part of the City of Toronto do you live in? **Experience**: - Kitchen: 1 year (preferred) **Language**: - English (required) Licence/Certification: - Food Handler Certification (preferred) - Smart Serve (preferred) Work Location: One location
