As a member of the Crown Forests and Lands Policy Branch, you will support a dynamic and innovative team in the analysis, development and interpretation of ministry policies related to the management and land use planning for public lands (also known as Crown lands). This role includes providing technical, analytical and administrative support to the development of public lands policies, regulations, and programs. If you want to learn more about Ontario's public lands, visit this website: Crown Land How do I qualify? **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**: Knowledge - Understanding of the theory, principles and practices of natural resource management and environmental risk assessment planning and management. - Knowledge of policy development processes and public consultation and engagement approaches. - Knowledge of data and information analysis techniques and computer-based analytical, data management and techniques to research, compile and analyze data; prepare reports and related materials and recommend effective courses of action. - Knowledge of policy research and analysis techniques, environmental scanning, modelling and trends forecasting, including utilizing databases and websites to gather, summarize and interpret information. - General understanding of legislative, regulatory, policy and planning tools that support public land management and sustainable resource management in Ontario. - Knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communication software such as MS Teams. Skills and Abilities - Well-developed research and analytical skills to conduct research, analyze, assess and report on complex and diverse issues with attention to detail. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) to assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, briefing notes and a variety of communications materials. - Professionalism, judgment and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, and address issues with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, partners, Indigenous communities and with other ministries. - Strong organizational, project management and time management skills to undertake and balance multiple tasks and shifting timelines. - Information management and computer skills to conduct research, maintain electronic information systems and prepare reports. **Additional Information**: **Eligibility**: - Proof of eligibility to work in Canada; - Graduated or will graduate from an approved or legally authorized college or university with a relevant degree or postgraduate within the last four years - Not a permanent employee in the OPS
