**Job Description**:
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the National Director, Indigenous Trust with a dotted line to the Vice President, Indigenous Markets, the Relationship Manager (RM), Indigenous Trust provides relationship management and administration oversight for the Indigenous Trusts. This involves partnering with a specialized team of professionals within Trust, Commercial Banking and Wealth Management dedicated to working with Indigenous clients. Of key importance to this role is the management of client relationships and the oversight of key procedures and checklists that ensure thorough client file management and that reflect and address the unique needs of Indigenous clients and characteristics of Indigenous Trusts. To this end, the Relationship Manager will assist the Executive Trust Officer who oversees the management of Indigenous files and related work done by Trust personnel. Primary duties of the Relationship Manager will be to liaise directly with Indigenous Trust clients to ensure the effective management and administration of the Trust and to build trusted relationships with Indigenous Leaderships, Communities, Trustees, Service Providers, and key stakeholders.

How You’ll Succeed
- Primary accountability for the management of client relationships and acts as the primary client contact.
- Engage with Indigenous clients regarding the delivery of Trust programs, funding, reporting, communication, and training.
- Liaise with key wealth partners and stakeholders (both internally and externally) to develop tailored Trust solutions, services, and strategies that are reflective of Indigenous communities priorities.
- Work closely with Leadership, Community Trustees, and Membership to support the use of their unique Trust structure to advance community goals and ambitions.
- Work closely with Indigenous communities to support the development of Trust programs and policies. As well as working with CIBC Trust Corporation to develop policies for the effective internal administration of the Trust files that comply with regulations.
- Ensures the Trust is administered in compliance with the Trust Deed.
- Support the onboarding of new Indigenous Trust clients.
- Prepare for and execute Community Trust meetings with Trustees from the community (including agenda preparation, minutes, and follow up).
- Support capacity development of Indigenous Leadership, Community Trustees, and community members.
- Timely, accurate, and professional oversight of the set up and administration of complex Indigenous trusts.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Trust legislation and issues impacting the Indigenous market.
- Identifies and mitigates account risks while adhering to all CIBC Trust Policies & Procedures.
- Oversees and/or prepares the reporting to the leadership and community members.
- Provides ongoing education and training for the leadership team and community members, as applicable on Trust matters.
- Partners effectively with external experts such as Investment Consultants, Investment Managers, tax specialist, and Auditors who service the Indigenous Trust and who provide guidance and oversight of the Indigenous Trust strategy and day to day operations. Supervises account investments to ensure consistency with account objectives, constating documents and legislation.
- Partners effectively with internal experts from the Investment Management Department, Tax Department, and other areas within CIBC to provide oversight and guidance on client investment, tax and other issues impacting the trusts.
- Develops and maintains a strong partnership with wealth partners in order to provide excellent client service and to support opportunities that may not involve acting as Trustee but where Trust services may be required.
- Assists Executive Trust Officer perform effective tracking, monitoring and compliance procedures relative to complex Indigenous Trust documents and pursuant to CIBC guidelines.
- Provides effective coaching and oversight to the support team.
- Motivates team to achieve superior results.
- Assists team with professional development through coaching and training opportunities.
- Assists Indigenous communities as a technical expert in creation of new Trust related policies, procedures, documents, etc. Assists in developing standards in Trust administration
