**Distillery Equipment and Maintenance Lead**
We are seeking a hands-on **Distillery Equipment and Maintenance Lead** to oversee the maintenance of our packaging line and distillery equipment. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our machinery while contributing directly to day-to-day operations. **Summary**
The Distillery Equipment and Maintenance Lead focuses on maintaining packaging and distillery equipment to ensure smooth operations. While not responsible for overall packaging line performance, this individual will play an active role in packaging operations as a team member. Their expertise will ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance, and support for production goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, boilers, air compressors, and packaging machinery, including labelers, fillers, and cappers.
- **Hands-On Packaging Support**: Work directly on the packaging line as part of the team, ensuring smooth operations and troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
- **Capital Maintenance Program Development**: Design and implement a long-term capital maintenance program to plan and budget for major equipment and facility improvements. Identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and lifespan through strategic investments.
- **Facilities Upkeep**: Manage general maintenance of the distillery including basic repairs, and long-term facility improvements.
- **Inventory & Budget Management**: Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- **Compliance & Safety**: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and internal standards. Conduct regular inspections and maintain detailed maintenance logs with the long term goal of implementing a HACCP program.
- **Collaboration**: Coordinate with production teams to align maintenance schedules with packaging and production goals, minimizing downtime.
**Work Site Expectations**
- **Schedule**: Work hours are 6 AM to 2 PM, Monday to Friday.
- **Location**: The position is on-site in Turner Valley, Alberta. No remote work is offered.
- **Safety Gear**: Appropriate safety gear is required at all times.
**Requirements**:
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance roles, preferably in a distillery, brewery, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Hands-on experience with pumps, boilers, air compressors, and packaging equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Millwright program certification or equivalent technical training is a plus.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
