**Site HSE Specialist - Fly In / Fly Out**
Diversified Transportation is currently looking for a full-time Site HSE Specialist to join our team in Fort McMurray. Reporting to the HSE Director, this role will be responsible for providing guidance/support/supervision on a remote camp site to a variety of skilled trade employees and management on implementing our HSE safety leadership program, ensuring that company systems are constantly evolving and improving to meet or exceed company, legislated and client requirements.
Additionally, the Site HSE Specialist will assist in the development and implementation of various proactive initiatives including site audits, facility inspections, daily toolbox talks and weekly HSE meetings.
**The shift for this position is 14 on / 14 off, 11 hour days worked as a split shift. Fly in / fly out options available from Edmonton or Calgary and site accommodation provided.**
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- **Support the Director of Health, Safety & Environment**:_
- While in this role you will provide leadership and direction for H&S cross business unit alignment to meet the organization’s safety and operational reliability objectives
- You will also provide expertise in the strategic assessment, development, and delivery of the H&S management program so that safety is handled using common systems, a common governance structure, terminology, practices, procedures, and an integrated approach
- Support the Director in developing and meeting budgetary goals
- **Support and develop the HSE culture of DTL**:_
- Support and promote company Core Values through all work related duties
- Be familiar with and support all company policies and procedures
- Assist in the development of HSE Management Systems
- Support, communicate and educate employees in understanding and implementing the HSE Management System and Environmental Management System
- Assist in identifying gaps in company policies, procedures and /or regulations by developing and monitoring the internal audit/inspection processes
- Serve as incident investigation team lead by taking on an incident command role in critical incident situations and remaining both diplomatic and neutral throughout incident investigations
- Serve as client contact for HSE related field issues by fostering positive client relationships and partnerships
**Desired Qualifications**:
- Completion of a college or university degree in a Management related field; specifically certification in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Management, an asset
- CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional), NCSO (National Certified Safety Officer), or CTSP (Certified Transportation Safety Professional)
- 3-5 years’ experience in an HSE Leadership role with demonstrated team development and team building success
- Previous transportation industry experience
- Knowledge of applicable HSE regulations, codes, practices and standards
- Minimum of class 5 driver’s license and a clear driver’s abstract
- Emergency Response experience an asset and Standard First Aid certification desired
- Experience working with unionized employees, an asset
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Access and Excel at an intermediate or advanced level
- High attention to detail and confidentiality
- High level of initiative and an ability to work under mínimal supervision or direction
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
