Manager, Facility Operations

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Responsible to overseeing and constantly improving the delivery of the recreation and athletics facilities maintenance, custodial and operational programs and services in a safety and efficient manner. The incumbent manages the overall facility operations for the Athletics portfolio including the planning and implementation of all capital projects.
**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of operational management and leadership concepts practices including program/service delivery models, policy development, planning, budgeting, performance measurement management, and human resources
- Knowledge of recreation and athletics facility operations and maintenance program design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation methodologies, processes, and practices
- Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
- Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity
- Knowledge is used to lead facility operations and maintenance unit
- Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering
**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
- Three-year college diploma in electrical or civil engineering
- Minimum of seven years of previous recreation and athletics facility operations and maintenance experience
- Three years of supervision and leadership experience
