**Day Porter**

**Job Summary**

We are seeking one (1) experienced Full Time Day Porter to work regular shifts (Monday to Friday 8:00 to 4:00) managing custodial responsibilities in the Byward Market.

**Description**:
Day Porters are responsible for keeping public areas within a facility clean and orderly. These are typically high-traffic areas where debris and dirt may accumulate. The Day Porter must adhere to Alco’s policies and procedures by meeting standards for integrity, honesty, dependability, appearance, safety and cleanliness. Must be able to obtain a police check and speak English. Security clearance and bilingualism definite assets.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain cleanliness of common areas (front entrances, lobbies, stairwells, courtyards etc..)
- Placing calls for extra cleaning where necessary
- Changing burnt out bulbs and arranging ballast changes
- Provide direction to the onsite cleaners if necessary or required
- Provide access to buildings, offices and sites as needed
- Escort contractors and owners in buildings as needed
- Reliable transportation is required to travel to various worksites (parking is provided and paid for)
- Communicate effectively with staff to coordinate where they are needed
- Follow all company policies and procedures

**Salary**: From $19.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

**Experience**:
