The JEPCA Dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of DEF products while meeting customer scheduling requirements. This position is responsible for planning and optimizing truck routes, managing driver schedules, and ensuring smooth day-to-day logistics operations.

Using systems such as Axon and Motive, the Dispatcher will develop daily delivery routes and driver assignments that balance operational efficiency with customer satisfaction.

Reporting directly to the Operations team, the Dispatcher will manage the performance, schedules, and hours worked of assigned drivers. The Dispatcher is also responsible for monitoring and controlling driver work hours and overtime to ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Operations Team, the duties and responsibilities of the JEPCA Dispatcher include, but are not limited to, the following:
Facility and Equipment Management
- Assist with the coordination of the truck Maintenance program

Safety and Compliance
- Monitor any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely delivery
- Attend and participate in Safety and Tailgate meetings
- Report all near misses, accidents, spills and Client Concerns to Operations and Safety Management
- Comply with NSC and Jepca Fleet Safety Standards.

Managerial Duties
- Manage the effectiveness and daily schedules of JEPCA drivers
- Manage driving team that has been assigned to JEPCA Dispatcher
- Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day for all DEF trucks and deliveries
- Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers
- Act as a communication liaison and answer incoming phone calls from drivers on the road
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
- Build cost effective loads for delivery each day
- Constant contact and reporting to Fleet Manager

Administrative Management
- Assist with answering questions from Accounts relievable to ensure accurate invoicing

Minimum Requirements:

- Minimum of two (2) years of experience dispatching a truck fleet
- High School Diploma
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings, weekend, and holidays
- Strong Knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area
- Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations
- Able to communicate effectively (both written and verbal);
- Strong problem solving skills;
- Accountable and dependable;
- Proficient in using a computer, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality of work;
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills;
- Able to demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic;
- Able to handle multiple priorities and tasks; and
- Experience with customer service preferred.

Key Relationships:
This position interfaces with internal and external contacts:

- Internal: Management Team, Driving Team, occasional contact with Controller and Admin
- External: Primarily Customers and suppliers

Working Conditions:

- Work in a busy, open office area with constant interruptions;
- Able to work on a computer for long periods of time;
- May spend long hours in intense concentration which requires attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and
- Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Red Deer, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
