This position is eligible for our Hybrid Work Program.** **Posting ID**: 3502 **Department**: Health **Division**: Public Health Resources **Pay Range**: $85,787 - $114,364 **Job Type**: Contract < 1 Year **Contract Duration**: From date of hire until June 17, 2025 **Hours of Work**: 35 hours per week **Work Location**: Halton Regional Centre - 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville **Employee Group**: OCT **Posting Date**:September 26, 2024 **Application Deadline**: September 30, 2024 **Job Summary**: Reporting to the Manager, Effective Public Health Practice, the Quality Improvement Specialist will lead and guide approved continuous quality improvement initiatives for the Public Health Department. **Duties & Responsibilities**: - Coordinate and guide others in policy development including conducting risk assessments. - Support departmental operational business planning, program planning, evaluation and project management. - Conduct business process reviews, identify and support implementation of solutions, and the integration of process changes into operational practices. - Research best practices relating to organizational quality in public health, develop recommendations and support implementation of priorities. - Write high quality documents including reports, briefing notes, project management documents, business cases, training materials and policies/procedures. - Participates in internal and external work groups relating to quality in public health. - Promotes and actively contributes to a climate of positive change and continuous improvement. - Performs other duties as required. **Skills & Qualifications**: - Masters Degree in Public Health Administration or a related discipline preferred. - Minimum five years work experience in public health. - Quality improvement methodology (e.g. LEAN Certification). - Strong research and analytical skills. - Experience in evidence informed decision making methodology and project management. - Knowledge of program planning and evaluation principles. - Proficient communication and report writing skills. - Excellent facilitation, presentation, organizational and problem solving skills. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and across organizational boundaries aptitude for relationship building and seeking out effective approaches to collaboration. - Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of discretion and diplomacy. - Must be highly organized, consistently demonstrate a high standard of quality in their work. - An equivalent combination of education and experience. - In accordance with requirements in Ontario Regulation 191/11 - Integrated Accessibility Standards and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Halton Region will accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
